As many of you have probably seen, I've recently read "Treasure Yourself" by Miranda Kerr. Miranda Kerr has been my role model for quite a long time now and I can't express how much she inspires me in my daily life. I wanted to write this to hopefully inspire you, my blog reader, whatever your age, to live life to the fullest. I'd like to share with you the inspiration Miranda has given me.
I may be quite young but I know that many of us get demotivated and set off track with our goals in life. I think that it's really important to constantly remind yourself that you're special and you're here for a reason. It's okay to be sad and it's okay to be tired sometimes but you shouldn't be like that all the time.
As for beauty, a lot of women get stuck into fashion trends or society's views of what people "should" look like. That's not right. Every woman in this world has their own unique abilities and features. The one thing you don't like about yourself could be the one thing another person loves the most. A lot of us get bullied, even people we might consider "inhumanly gorgeous". You can't let that affect you negatively. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Everyone else should respect that, no matter what it may be. In any given moment of any given day you have the power to chose how you react to something. If you absolutely love what your wearing today and one person says that they don't like it, why should that affect you at all? If you're genuinely happy with how you look in that day and you feel good wearing what you're wearing, then work it! People are naturally drawn to confidence.
Confidence is really important to me. You could feel awful one day and if you look at yourself and continually think that, you're just going to make your day bad. But if you look at yourself and say positive things like "I'm beautiful," or my personal favorite, "I'm a joyful being of light and love." you'll feel GOOD. I've only been using positive affirmations or "Power Thoughts", as some call them, for a few days and I've already seen a distinct difference in my happiness. Even if you think it's not true, if you keep repeating it, you'll start to believe it. If you walk into a room feeling bad about yourself and feeling self conscious about how you look, people are going to pick up on that. In the same way if you walk into a room and you're super confident (but not overly coincided) and happy, people will be drawn to that. Can you think of anyone that you just always want to be around because they have a special something about them? Could that special something be confidence and self-power?
People who are confident in their own skin can conquer the world and confident people tend to be the happiest (and the most genuinely beautiful). Lately, I've been trying to be more confident in myself and my abilities and I've been accepting of the things I'm not good at. People have really noticed. I haven't changed the way I dress or the way I do my hair or makeup and people have been complementing me a lot more. Don't be afraid to laugh at your mistakes, after all life is 10% what happens and 90% how you react to it. If you do something embarrassing, just laugh. That's honestly how I get through my gym class.
Stay confident and think positive and there's nothing that can stop you from being happy. Like Miranda's mum told her "Let your little light shine". ♥
